The bedtime TAG.

I was nominated to do "the bedtime tag" by the hubby over at One Hull of a dad. Check his out Here.

I'm not gonna lie my "bedtime" routine isn't very exciting!! Hell I'm a married woman and a mummy to two, sometimes I'm that exhausted I sleep in my sick stained leggings!!

1. Describe your usual bedtime routine.

This is the same routine day in day out!! It's like fucking groundhog day! I bathe the kiddies and put them to bed, then I cross my fingers and pray to the guy in the sky sat on his cloud that Alice falls to sleep without a fight! I do a little Excited dance that she does, then I'll go downstairs to the hubs and we watch a catch up on our latest programmes (The blacklist and NCIS at the moment) Then I'll go for a bath and get into bed (around 9.30) Then the fun starts!! We'll have around 5/7 wake-up calls throughout the night from one or both children.

2. What are your favourite pyjamas?

I can't put into words how much I fricking LOVE pyjamas!! I would wear them every minute of every day if I could!! The mums that do the school run in theirs will get slated and talked about, but hell, I say good on you sister!! Sometimes I wish I had the bollocks to say fuck it I'm going "comfy" today and head off in one of my Winnie the pooh numbers!! My favourite pair is a blue fleecy pair with owls on!! I always buy them 2 sizes too big so that there all baggy and fluffy!

3. What is your current bedtime reading?

I don't read in bed as we still have Alice in our room so I can't put the light on, so at the moment....this is really bad, I know, but I have a quick flick through the social media on my phone, Twitter, Instagram and facebook. Its really bad and I need to stop doing it, as my little brain can't switch off and my dreams are getting a little crazy!

4. What would I find on your bedside table?

I don't have a bedside table I have the cot next to me, so I have a crying, shitting, real life alarm clock getting me up throughout the night! It's snooze from 10 pm all the way through to 7 am!!

5. What scent makes you sleepy?

I have Radox or Dove in my bath, the more bubbles the better, If I'm feeling super flush ill have a lush bath bomb! I lay back and relax and sometimes I'll nod off, then bed it is.

6. What is your usual bedtime and wake-up time?

I would love to be able to say 10 pm through to 7 pm but I resemble a zombie that's stuck its head in a bee hive for a reason! The first wake-up call is usually around 12, then 1,30, 3, 4.45 and then 6.30/7! I feel exhausted just typing it!! Me and the hubby take turns on his day off at having a little mini lie-in but we both set our alarms for 8/8.15 for some reason, I didn't set my alarm I swear, I'd still be asleep at midday!!

7. What are your top three bedtime products?

Pyjamas, A strong brew and a hot bubble bath!

8. What is your most common sleeping position?

I used to only sleep on my back, but since my back got pretty horrendous, I can only sleep on my side with my left arm under the pillow and my knees tucked up.

9. Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?

My hubby, I know this sounds really sad but before children, we used to go to bed together, cuddle up and watch a film, I'd fall asleep on him every night and never finish a film but it was "our" thing and I loved it! Now he gets a bath after me (when iv got in bed) then he goes downstairs and watches his crap on tv and doesn't come up until 11/11.30 at which point I'm obviously dead to the world! I can't remember the last time I was little spoon and we fell asleep together!

10. What is your worst bedtime habit?

I'd say taking my phone to bed, I watch Disney vlogs on YouTube, which for a Disney depressed freak it really excites my brain at a time when it should be relaxing!

Well that's my Tag done, I'm going to tag another three people to complete it, so I'm nominating,

Kirsty over at The money saving mum

Baby and mammy over at babypixieandbeauty

Spoon paws over at mummyisagadgetgeek

Thanks for reading.

Diary of an imperfect mum

  1. I certainly don't miss the cot being next to the bed and wake up calls all through the night (although one or both kids still gets me up at some point for the toilet or a nightmare or a lost dummy)!

  2. Oh your list of "alarm " calls made me shudder in remembrance. We still have the odd night like that but "touch wood" apart from when she is poorly, bubba is only waking once or twice. Stay strong ! Thank you for linking to #ablogginggoodtime
